On April 21,
2010, Chris White, the
Executive Director of
Community Legal Aid
Society of Delaware, was
tragically killed in a
hit-and-run accident at
7th and
Shipley Streets in
downtown Wilmington.
Ironically, the accident
occurred outside the
Shipley Lofts, a housing
development for
Wilmington’s emerging
art community that Chris
spearheaded and was only
days from opening. Over
the years, many DTLA
members have contributed
their time, talent, and
treasure to CLASI, which
serves some of the most
needy and desperate
citizens of our state.
As such, the
AdvocateEditors
thought it only fitting
to publish this moving
tribute to a man whose
career and
accomplishments made an
indelible mark on the
citizens of Delaware.
